All of them. Yes from movies and shows, but also from other media (plays, books, video games, songs, etc), and from random in-jokes. I also tend to forget that not everyone will get each reference.

As a con, they do lose some of their lustre when over-explained.

I get more of the conversational nuance in Gilmore Girls every time I watch it, though!
