TV shows that deserve more recognition?

Oz really doesn't get mentioned often when discussing the best of TV or even HBO. A shame, too, because it's brilliant television - storytelling flaws aside and some genuinely woeful writing, it played quite the pioneering role in terms of where a television show can go. At its best, very few could match it.

Mother and Son is another one too. Hidden suburban Aussie sitcom, but impeccably written and quite satirical.
