Your favourite film set in a prison?

Postby Matteo » Feb 14, '14, 1:18 am

Robert Bresson's A Man Escaped is a fantastic slice of neorealism, and one of the best French films from the 50s. I always had a soft spot for JCVD in In Hell, too.

You?

JCVD is also in a prison movie called Death Warrant which I thought was alright.

I will run with Midnight Express.

That's a good call. It's one of those movies I really like but always seem to forget.

Le Trou (The Hole) is the best, followed by A Man Escaped.

Oh, another favorite of mine: The Great Escape. It's not really a prison movie... it's a POW camp, not a prison, but it has a lot of the same themes and the story of the escape is awesome.
