Make Tim Watch Firefly

I've been hassling Tim to watch Firefly for ages, and he still hasn't done it. Though apparently his lady friend is a fan of it, so she might be a better motivator than me. But maybe we can find a few other names to show him the error of his ways.

Anyone else here love this show? Only 14 episodes, which sucks because based on the strength of those episodes we should have gotten a lot more. But on the other hand it was almost a blessing in a way because what we're left with is damn close to perfect. It didn't stick around for long enough to go down hill.

What are some of your favourite characters and moments from the show? Personally, I fell in love with Mal as a character right in that first episode. When Simon asked him why he was so happy and he just replied "We're still flying" that settled it for me. I really liked Angel, but Whedon has never written a better protagonist than Mal.

Always heard it praised by everyone who's seen it but I also always hear that the series wasn't concluded properly which makes me not want to bother watching it.

Firefly is amazing. Mal is my favorite. Such a badass. All fourteen episodes are great. Ive rewratched it so many times. What are your thoughts on Serenity??

I hear great things about it, but it's on the bottom of my shows to watch, to be honest. I need to start Game of Thrones and be caught up with it by the next season so I can watch it live.

Actually a movie was made to conclude the series and did a fairly good job of it.

It's only 14 episodes long and not a big commitment as a result. And the episodes do stand alone to a certain extent too. I'd advise everyone to give it a try. I was reluctant to watch it at first too. I was only convinced after quite a bit of nagging from my better half. But I instantly loved it.

For those of you with Netflix, it's on there too so you have no excuse.

One of the best shows of it's kind. Loved every second of it. Wifey and I re-watch the series every few months.

Remembered about this and decided to give it a go, I've seen the first 4 episodes so far, gotta say I really like it. It feels a lot like Cowboy Bebop which I loved as well, if anyone who likes Firefly hasn't seen that I'd say it's worth a shot, same kind of space western feel to it. I reckon I'll have finished this in a day or two, awesome show.

Good man! It is a great show. I'll be interested to hear who your favourite characters/episodes are once you're done. Remember there's a movie also (Serenity) - by the time the series ends you'll probably be wanting closure on some things!

I have to say, I read some of the Cowboy Bebop manga and hated it, but I've heard from a lot of people that the anime is infinitely better. So hearing this recommendation, I'll be sure to check out some time.

I've only watched the first episode so far but I enjoyed it. Haven't had the time to dive into the second yet but hopefully soon I'll be able to continue on with it.

after firefly i recommend Eureka. i just finished the show myself and wish there was more of it
