Who thought this was funny?

Here's the IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2203939/

It's shit like this that makes men not come forward when they're domestically abused. An absolute tasteless concept for a film.

Not a movie goer but meh doesn't look great does it.

Just imagine the outrage and attention of that word at the start said she'll and ended with her not him.

Any film that casts both Kate Upton and nicki minaj is never going to be a good film.

Sorry, what? Where the hell did you pull that from?

It looks like a crappy comedy bout a bunch of girls getting revenge on a cheating guy. I literally can't fathom how you concluded that.

The film poster is making light of a group of women assaulting a man. There's a knuckle duster on there for fuck sake - as Aky said, reverse the genders in the film and outrage would ensue.

Roughly 40% of domestic violence victims are men but 85% of reported cases are against women, showing that men rarely report the incident. Most of these men are probably reluctant to admit they've been abused as they're typically bigger and stronger. With films like this, it continues to poke fun at the idea of a man being assaulted by a woman, likely encouraging more male domestic violence victims to stay silent.

The bottom line is, the film poster is about one gender inciting violence against another. Which isn't cool, either way.

I would imagine it's because stuff like this makes it seem like a bunch of women beating up a dude is okay.

You don't need to report stats to me, I'm aware of this problem. But you're seeing something that isn't there. Nobody is being assaulted in this movie. The brass knuckle's obviously just a symbol for, whatever stupid plot-hole-ridden financial game they're going to play to get revenge on the guy, as seen in the movie's trailer.

Give me a break.

I'm also talking about abuse, not just assault - although assault would come under that category in certain instances. No one may get assaulted in this movie, but they are being abused.

If the opposite of this film existed and a group of men were conspiring to get a woman fired from work, were spiking her drink with hormones normally given to a transsexual and were saying things like "We should kick her in the vagina", it would be torn apart - those are the things we only see in the trailer, let alone the actual film. Bear in mind the knuckle duster on the film's poster and the slogan of "She'll never know what hit her", people would flip their shit. Hell, it probably wouldn't even make it past the drawing board.

The issue definitely is there, and it's not funny. It's hypocritical. As I said above, at the end of the day it's a film making light of the abuse of one gender by another, which isn't funny, cool, or a good concept for a film. Luckily the film looks like shit anyway and it probably going to bomb, but still - it's tasteless.

If this were a movie starring Steve Zahn, Dax Shepard and Ed Burns trying to get revenge on their ex-girlfriend and had the same picture, this would be all over the news because of how distasteful it is. There is a double standard. Just imagine how much shit "Everybody Loves Raymond" would have taken if instead of how it is, he treated her like she treats him, constantly berating him, putting him down, and being a down right bitch. If the show was of a man talking to his wife like that it would have been canceled after the first episode.

Porky I think you're getting your britches in a bundle over nothing here.

"After realizing she is not her boyfriend's primary lover, a woman teams up with his wife and plots mutual revenge."

Sounds innocent enough to me. It takes way too much energy to get that offended over something so small.

Ha, never heard this phrase before. I might use it. The knickers in a twist is a common one for getting worked up abit something over nothing.

I'm on your side, Porkchop. If the roles were reversed, people would be up in arms about it. That movie would never be made. So there is a double standard, for sure. I think it'd be very difficult to claim otherwise. Sure, maybe much of the plot is innocent enough, but it's still being marketed and portrayed in a light that would be much less acceptable if the gender roles were to be reversed.
