What do we make of this? Looks like there's the possibility of more Walter White/Jesse Pinkman because of this.

Hmmm, not sure if the world needs or deserves anymore White and Pinkman...

Excited about the spinoff though.

Really not into this idea at all. Breaking Bad was what it was, and I feel as though they should have left it alone.

This.

I'll watch the first couple of episodes of the spin-off so I can judge it accordingly but heading into it I've always been against the show in general. Spin-offs are usually horrible excuses for television shows done only to make a bit of cash off the back of an extremely popular original show. I do trust Gilligan and company to make a decent show but I can't look past the very real prospect that this could easily turn out to be the 'Joey' to Breaking Bad's 'Friends'.

As for White and Pinkman appearing - fuck that, leave the characters be.

I agree that they should have left well enough alone. The show wrapped it's self up pretty damn good. My biggest fear is they will have Jessie post show. I prefer the question being left open, as to what happened after he
drove off.

I'm also iffy about the potential for the show overrunning with Breaking Bad's timeline, but I'm willing to give it a chance. I love me some Saul Goodman and I think the character can definitely carry a show on its own, so that alone is enough for me to want to at least try out the first couple episodes.

Saul always worked well as a supporting character. He never had too much screen exposure, so the moments he had were so much better. I feel giving him a show completely dedicated to his character is going to wear out thin and get a bit stale.

It would be like Creed from The Office US having his own show. His character works well in a supporting capacity and not a leading one.

Also, look how well this turned out...

Although to be fair, a Cleveland Brown spin-off was just a shitty idea to begin with.

^^ True, but in fairness I think that this is also.

I can't do much but repeat what others have said already. Saul Goodman was a great side character, but he would not make a good protagonist. There was no need to do any more with the Breaking Bad universe - it's not typically the kind of show that gets a spin off, or even deserves one, despite how good the show itself was. Showing Walt and Jesse will come off as really gimmicky.

Also, trying to have a show represent a character over a long period of time is often a disaster, because they have to either use different actors that don't look enough alike, or more often than not try to only represent the age of the character through ridiculous wigs that always look awful.

I might give this show a try, if people are raving about it a few episodes after it begins, but I'm honestly not interested in it at all. I don't think it's going to work.

Considering it's already been renewed for a second season, I assume the pilot's test screening was overwhelmingly positive. Still excited.
