It was a spectacle for sure, but 50 shots!! If Steph Curry took 50 shots he'd break Wilt's record.

I tuned in for the beginning of the Lakers game, loved all the pomp and circumstance around it then when Kobe missed three of his first four shots flipped to the Golden State game and never went back. I fell asleep early in the second quarter of both games and woke up shocked that Kobe had done what he did.

Shooting 44% isn't bad though.

Especially when you consider he missed his first five shots and his last five shots. He was pretty much on fire in the middle of the game.

It was a show in the same way that the NBA All-Star game is a show. Neither team was playing for anything and the defense was non-existent. It was a good way for Kobe to go out on though. Personally, I enjoyed the Steph Curry 46 last night more then the Kobe 60. The Warriors were going for a record that no one thought could be beat and Memphis was still playing to move up to the 6th spot in the West.

While we're here let's talk about how unreal Steph Curry's game was.

To put into perspective he needed 41 points to average 30 for the season, had to make 8 threes for 400 and needed to maintain decent numbers to join the vaulted 50/40/90 club. He did all 3 last night by the 3rd.

While he had a better performance than Kobe, Kobe told the bigger story and come on - why not go out in a blaze.
