That last punch basically exploded his nose, it looked horrible. It was a good performance from Rory overall and he could've won the title on another day - he was ahead on the judges scorecards.

It's got to be eating him up that he was ahead on every judges score card, 39-37. A KO was the only way he'd lose the title and that's what happened. Rory is tough as nails though, he will be back.

I've been seeing that too but I don't know why. I've watched the fight twice now and both times I thought Robbie took the first two rounds comfortably; I gave the third to Rory and I think he (just) edged the fourth so yeah, I had it 2-2 heading into the fifth. How did you guys judge it?

I also had it 2-2 going into the fifth, and if it wasn't for that punch I think Rory would've taken it.

I'm really not convinced by Lawler. He won the belt by a very close split decision and almost lost it last night. He was literally saved by the bell at the end of the third. In a rematch I'd pick Hendricks and Rory to beat him, I'd fancy Condit's chances of beating him as well. GSP would beat him, should he return.

I like Lawler and he has the heart of a lion but I just can't get behind his reign. It just feels like he's keeping the belt warm for a while.

I had it 2-2 as well, but all three official scorecards had it 3-1.

I was pulling for Rory in this fight but I just hoped it would have been a war and was it. The main card as a whole was full of exciting fights but this one was by far the best. Easily the best fight I've seen in a long while. As soon as Rory fell back, I followed suit and slumped in my chair. I was so disappointed that he lost but what a fucking fight.

As far as the score card went, I had the first round a 10-10, Lawler the second, Rory three and four.

Caught a replay as someone on Twitter said it was the best fight he'd seen boxing or MMA.

Rory seemed to be doing OK until that precise punch to the nose (doesn't seem much padding on the knuckle so that must have stung) and the momentum swung one way to the next and I've seen some UFC fights (not many) that lose my interest when they grapple but this fight was a good watch.

@AkyDefGoldberg

You might like this fight. I won't spoil it, but it's fucking awesome. Dillashaw's footwork is the best in MMA, possibly even in combat sports as a whole.
