Mayweather vs Pacquiao - who wins?

Postby PorkChop » May 01, '15, 3:44 pm

I'm going for a Mayweather decision, but it could be a close one. I wouldn't be surprised if Pacquiao wins the first few rounds.

Depends on the Mayweather we see. If he fights like he did against Maidana the first time and exposes himself, then I think Pacquiao has a great shot.

Head says Floyd. Heart says Manny and I'm going for the latter, just think he will be the ONE.

Manny only wins via KO in the first six rounds though. If it goes past that then I'd worry for him.

Pacquiao didn't like that staredown at all. He was looking all over the place.

I'd be very surprised if Pacquiao won. He has struggled with leg cramps for numerous years now, with rumours going around he has struggled with them during his training as well. And he hasn't knocked out a proper contender in a long time. In fact his last fight was made with the intention of giving him a well needed knockout to his resume. I don't think he has the power to floor Mayweather in 2015.

I say it will be Mayweather by UD. Pacquiao may look a little strong in the first few rounds, he may even win one or two of them. But once the fight goes four/five rounds in I can see Manny's legs giving in on him and him struggling with his movement and to land with much that is significant!

Nah, he was wanted to burst out laughing at the start! Think it was probably boys in Floyd's camp behind him talking to him..

Floyd weren't impressed when MP pumped the crowd up after the staredown, gave him a look that spoke volumes.

Look at him. He's looking around the room, shifting from left to right, laughing and nodding nervously. He didn't like that staredown at all.

Floyd UD would be my bet, though more and more I'm liking the idea of a late stoppage for Money when Manny gets desperate and tries to take his head off. I can't see Manny winning at all tbh, he might come out swinging in the early going but Floyd is the master of not getting hit.

I'm watching it live, too. Wasn't planning on it but me and the lads are having a house party for it, should be good.

All depends on Mayweather if he fights like a pussy aka like Mayweather then he will win easily by decision but if Manny can get Mayweather to actually attempt to go on offense and fight. Then Manny has a shot.

I'm going with a Mayweather decision. Definitely don't think we get a KO in this one.

I know, it's shit. We've got beer and wings though.

I just have to put up with my mates, none of whom know anything about the sport but are suddenly the biggest boxing fans alive.

I had that problem for Pacquiao vs Hatton. Didn't help that Hatton got totally destroyed either.

I was asked my opinion by a few of them responded I thought Floyd would take it on the UD, none of them knew what UD stood for. This morning I had a browse on my Twitter and saw the same lads quoting 'Floyd UD' when making predictions, which was pretty funny to see. I've got another set of 'die-hard' Pacquiao fans who think he'll secure the KO within 5, I said die-hard because tonight will be there first actual fight! :golfclap

Carl Froch, making himself look like a knob as always...

Funny thing is Floyd doesn't give a shit about Froch-Groves, when asked about it last year, said "who's that?"

Hoping the pizza keeps me going until 4am, and some tea and doughnuts.

Firmly going for Manny now. Really hope he wins and for Roach, can see how important it's for him.

Floyd wins UD

Feel for Manny. Floyd, to his credit, took the fight away early on. Manny looked demoralised early on and despite a few rounds success, Floyd was excellent. Always took a step back before MP threw to increase the distance, rolled well when needed to and Manny's punches never caused him major problems. Class.

Felt for Manny getting ambushed in his post fight interview by that HBO guy, it could be the end for Manny.

Mayweather is now 52-0 if you include all the women he beat.
