MLB Season has begun

Postby DBSoT » Apr 05, '15, 6:25 pm

For all of us that love baseball, the season is underway. Currently the season opener is underway between St. Louis and Chicago Cubs. Is anyone else excited for the season? Even though my Tigers will likely take a step back this season, I am still excited to see teams like Miami, Toronto, and San Diego take steps forward. I am also really interested to see how the Cubs young team looks. They could be crazy good in the future if they progress, especially with Maddon at the helm.

I'll take the Cubs lol for some strange reason no matter how bad the Phillies get over the years they can always seem to beat the Cubs.

So this seems like a good place to run up some predictions and see how we all do.

I think the playoff teams will be:

AL East - Red Sox
AL Central - Indians, hopefully their pitching can carry them.
AL West - Angels
AL WC - Mariners vs Tigers

NL East - Nationals
NL Central - Pirates
NL West - Dodgers
NL WC - Cardinals vs Giants

WS - Nationals over Mariners

AL MVP - Robinson Cano
NL MVP - Andrew McCutchen

AL Cy Young - Felix Hernandez
NL Cy Young - Jordan Zimmerman

Love baseball.

I'm a Cincinnati Reds fan and unfortunately, I'm not expecting a lot out of them this year. They'll probably be shipping Cueto out of town near the All-Star break since he is going to demand close to 200 million after this season. No way they'll be able to afford that. Wouldn't surprise me to see them trade Aroldis Chapman either. And they traded Latos earlier this year.

Too much talent, not enough money to keep it all around. Hopefully they surprise me, but I expect them to go with a youth movement and sit near the bottom of the division for the next 2-3 years before some one their young talent comes up.
