What is the biggest sporting event you've attended?

"Biggest" can mean in terms of crowd attendance, spectacle, or just significance. I attended the semi-final of one AFL match a few years back - 75,000 people, under the lights, good seats. It was enthralling. That would probably top my rather short list. I also went to the Australian Open a few times, but they were only round one matches.

I'll give you two different ones. First, I attended Game 3 of the 1998 ALCS which the Indians beat the Yankees 6-1. It was a fantastic time and at the height of the Indians 465 consecutive sellouts, in which they actually added temporary bleachers just to get more people into the stadium.

Second, being from near Canton, Ohio I got to go the NFL Hall of Fame game once, which was special in its own kind of way. The pre-game and pomp and circumstance is better than the actual game since that's just a preseason affair in which mostly backups play (we actually left and went to a bar at halftime).

Never been to a championship game for any sport. But of the games I have been to, it has to be the Bills Titans game at the Ralph a few years ago. 73,967 seats. Almost all filled. Next biggest would be Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park. Been to a few sold out games there and they seat 43,651. Been to a mostly filled Nationals game that seats 41,888.

If you want a "real" sport, then the biggest football match I have been to I suppose was Arsenal vs Tottenham and the Emirates.

Probably just a small enough TNA show in the Boxing Arena in Dublin. Or maybe our school's outing in a hurling final when I was about 14. I haven't been to a lot of major sporting events. I'm not a sports person for the most part. I do like rugby a lot, but I've never really felt too bothered attending a game live. I'm happy to watch it in the pub, or at home on the couch.

Well at capacity, Yankee Stadium houses 50,291 people.
