Sports trivia question

Postby The Legend » Feb 25, '14, 12:24 pm

So I was reading a thing in the local paper that was commemorating the 50th anniversary of Cleveland's last sports championship season. In it there was an interesting graph that created this sports trivia question:

Other than Cleveland, what's the only city to have had representatives in the three major sports leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB) at some point in the last 50 years, and go without a championship in that time?

HINT: This city had an NBA franchise, but currently does not.

HINT 2: They are also the only 3 sport city that has a lower 50-year winning percentage than Cleveland.

I don't get why San Diego doesn't get more flack like Cleveland. The Clippers were bad and the Padres are bad. The Chargers have had moments where they were good to great but have never been able to get their shit together and win it all. Is it because it's San Diego and not Cleveland? Does warm weather year round and half naked women make it immune to mocking?

Because San Diego doesn't care nearly as much about its sports as Cleveland does.

San Diego had the Rockets but they moved to Houston. They then got the relocated Buffalo Braves who moved to San Diego and became the San Diego Clippers but you now know them as the Los Angeles Clippers.

Yeah the San Diego Clippers were there about 30 years ago, so that's how they qualify.
