Your Mt. Rushmore's?

Postby The Legend » Feb 18, '14, 11:47 am

So this has been in the news a lot for basketball with LeBron giving his Mt. Rushmore of the sport. I thought it might be fun if we did a Mt. Rushmore for whatever sports we choose. For those that don't know Mt. Rushmore is a mountain with the faces of four American presidents known for historical importance carved into it. So basically selct the four greatest/most important players in a sport's history. I'll get things started.

NFL:

Jim Brown
Jerry Rice
Lawrence Taylor
Joe Montana

MLB:

Ty Cobb
Barry Bonds
Babe Ruth
Nolan Ryan

NBA:

Michael Jordan
Magic Johnson
Bill Russell
Jerry West

I think baseball is the hardest to do this for just because of how rich in history it is, how many different eras and changes the sport has been through and just the different way the game has been played in the past to the present. Other sports don't seem to celebrate their past legends quite as much.
