Alright guys, Ive been tied up with work and life. But I just wanted to pop in and check on ya.

How's ya summer goals coming along?
Any areas you consider your strengths?
What about your weak areas? How do you plan to improve those?

Mine hit a plateau, I got to my goal of 8% bodyfat, however I'm stuck here :lol

My strengths are that I've never lost a whole of power in my big 3(bench, squat, deads).

My weaknesses are my legs, and symmetry. I POUND my legs for a solid hour and a half. They come out decently shredded but the symmetry is off. You either have it or you dont, sucks :lol I plan to improve this using a 1-2 pause on my extensions and hamstring movements. Ill check back with more progress in July.

I still can't go to the gym cos of my injured knees. They're healing a bit now though, I can walk around a bit more comfortably. So hopefully I can go back soon. I might go soon and just hold off on cardio and leg work, and just focus on weights and maybe some floor exercises. Just to keep myself fit, so I'm not quite as far back when I start full time again.

On the bright side, if I've put on any weight since stopping, it hasn't been much. I only use the scales in the gym so I'm not sure exactly, but I know I've not put on much either way. My strength is likely to be down once I return though.

I never really had a summer goal, I just wanna look good... haha.

Anyways I am still being half assed about my diet. I have been eating a little more because I have been starving a lot more as of late, but I also feel the extra intake has had a direct effects on my lifting power. Weights are going up, I am seeing more progress and its cool.

I have been heavily focusing more on my back and shoulders. pull-ups, weighted rows, upright rows, lateral raises, etc. My back is a lot weaker than my chest and I injured my rotator cuff before from too much chest work and bad posture, so I am trying to fix my posture as well.

I think I have Anterior pelvic tilt as well so I am also again, trying to focus on posture. Although I am not quite so sure how to approach this one as much as the back.

Strengths? hmmm, maybe consistently working out ahahaha. It's a priority, I love it and I keep at it and I make time for it. But for real my strengths are probably endurance. I excel at lifts that have high reps per set. If the weights get too high my body kind of gives up and I feel like its not a good set. Exhaustion sets are much better for me.

I'm looking to lose a bit of weight, during my dissertation I let my diet go mainly due to stress, also many energy drinks were consumed in midnight sessions in the library. This has taken its toll, and I'm not best pleased with it.

I'm currently about 205lbs, about 6 weeks back I was about 210-215 - the heaviest I've been in my life. I want to cut to about 196, it's a more natural weight for me.

Also - what are the best protein supplements? I'm kind of poor so I'm looking for the best 'bang for buck' thing going.

The best protein is whole foods. I go with a cup and a half of egg whites and 3 whole omega-3 eggs. Scrambled. However, the best supplements I've used are ISO-100 or Syntha-6. Mix those with almond milk and omg.

Aye beast, a lil bit back we were talking about supplements and the like in this thread. You said you like to take Bullnox as your pre-work out. How do you like it and do you recommend something else? I am running out of mine and I figure you look like a monster so at least what you are taking isn't hurting maybe kind of yes?

Itll depend on what you want it to do. I buy strictly for the pump. Which is I love Bullnox. If you want enrgy, I'd go with C4, Supremacy Burn, or Alpha Cuts.

Pump: Bullnox, Hyde, NOXYGEN.

Energy: C4, Supremacy Burn, Alpha Cuts. Or 3 cups of coffee one hour before workout.

Both: Adrenolyn Bulk/Cut are insane,

Those are whats worked for ME. Your body type and goals are far different than mine Im sure,

I don't see the point unless you are training for something specific.

I don't think suffocating makes me have a better work out.

Just wanted to recommend something I've been using as part of an explosiveness/strength /power training system I'm doing at the moment.

Sets of 3 box squats followed by max box jumps.

Five sets on leg days first up and my squats have improved dramatically. On has gone up 80 lbs on my five rep max in just three weeks.

Oh it definitely improves your cardiovascular workout and improves your health. Want proof, just watch professional sports games played in Denver, Colorado where the elevation is higher which means the air is thinner and there's less oxygen. Visiting athletes always get gassed easier and can't keep up with their normal performance, while Denver athletes who work out in that air all the time have a much easier time of it because they are used to it and in better shape for it.

Whilst the above is absolutely correct, I can say with absolute certainty that all of the people I have seen using them have neither anticipated playing professional football in Denver or undergoing preparations for some from of altitude related event.

It's a bit like the bodybuilding training adage, 80% of people believe that they need the program for those in the top 20%.

^^^ While I understand that most people using them won't be doing that, it still will help anyone who goes that route to some degree.

I would still question it a little as they live in the atmosphere rather than JUST work out in it. I guess it conditions the body to work off of less oxygen, but I don't think the mask is going to make or break the endurance levels of people who generally visit the gym.

If anyone wants a laugh, that's me last week. Back up to around 200 unfortunately, as I've been eating like shit with minimal workouts. However, since then, I've been going on 60 minute runs every night and TRYING to eat better. Although, it is hard. I am hoping to start lifting again next week when my summer class ends. Wish me luck :D
