My friend worries me.

Postby Viazon » Dec 01, '15, 1:44 pm

I have a friend who turns 40 next year. He is a full grown adult. Yet he is one of the most gullible people I know. The type of guy who believes everything he reads on the internet. This weekend, he was telling me all about the Illuminati. Here are just a few things that he actually believes.

- Will Smith's success is down to his involvement in the Illuminati. His argument was how he so quickly became a movies star. He went from starring in a TV show to being the main star in big movies almost immediately. He doesn't seem to think that it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he was one of the most popular rappers at the time and was starring in one of the most popular TV shows at the time. Any movie director would be begging him to be the main attraction in their movie.

- Kanye West's success is due to his involvement in the Illuminati. Apparently, his success was at the expense of his mothers life, which the Illuminati had told him he would have to sacrifice if it meant he was to achieve success. Kanye West was told to leave to country while the Illuminati killed his mother so it wouldn't look like he had anything to do with it.

- Jay-Z and Beyonce are not really married. The Illuminati made them get together because they are both two of the biggest music stars on the planet and that their baby is not really theirs.

- Chris Brown refused to work with the Illuminati. As a result, they set out to ruin his career. Apparently, he didn't really beat up Rihanna. That was all set up by the Illuminati to ruin him.

- 2-Pac was killed by the Illuminati. Not in the feud between East Coast and West Coast rappers. The reason being because he too didn't want anything to do with them.

- The Illuminati make all people who agree to their services do stuff like being filmed having sex with members of the same sex. That way, if they try to do anything they don't like, they can use it against them to make them look gay.

I knew he was the type to believe any bullshit he reads on Facebook, but this is ridiculous. The reason he believes this is because there is apparently some video on the internet that exploits all of the Illuminati's secrets. I tried to talk sense into him but he wasn't having it.

I also remember a few months back, there was a picture being shared around on Facebook with Steven Yeun, (Glenn from The Walking Dead) and the little kid who was in The Goonies and Indiana Jones, claiming to be the same person. When I saw him, he told me about it and I told him it wasn't true. Steven Yeun was only 2 years old when The Goonies came out. After telling him this, he got annoyed, asking why would people make up that kind of stuff. I told him it was because people like him believe it.

Anyone else have any friends who believe in crazy stuff.

I don't have any friends that believe crazy stuff but I read about it all the time too. I was like really why spread bullshit around the internet when the average person would believe it while people with some common sense know that that they are talking bullshit.

I hardly believe anything I read online unless they have a trustful source attached to it other then that it just all hot air.

Throughout the weekend, any time a celebrities name came up, he would mention how they are also in the Illuminati. I think he firmly believes every every celebrity is.

I know a few people who still think 911 was an inside job. Those same people also believe that the most recent mass shootings were haux devised to create a negative image of the NRA. I used to know a guy who claimed he had proof that we have never landed on the moon. THESE PEOPLE WALK AMONG US!!!

I am troubled by how easily some people will believe anything that goes viral on Facebook. Scaremongering about the evils of flouride, or other nutty conspiracy theories. Or the huge number of public service announcements that are complete fabrications. One recent one I saw was telling people that if they're getting robbed at an ATM, if they put their pin in backwards the bank will automatically call the police. Utter nonsense.

What's more annoying is that you can comment on these items posting links to articles very clearly and articulately debunking this stuff as rubbish, and others will still comment directly below you, still buying into the bullshit. Some people just want to believe any old crap.
