A world with no Microsoft Powerpoint...

Postby AkydefGoldberg » Sep 27, '15, 3:29 pm

I came across this article on Twitter and it conjured up much retrospective thinking and helped think of things to try at work, namely, the continous usage of Microsoft Powerpoint.

At university, there were occasions when lecturers would use Powerpoint and we were encouraged to use it for presentations but reading that article, it did make me think it might have been better to allow students to express themselves without. It's more of a challenge and could aid in delivery if you haven't got the security of a slide to aid you?

I think it does have a place but in academic settings, its use is too easy at times.

I remember, as a kid, being impressed by the animation feature and in the different ways we could put the info on a slide!

Lol yes! And when people discovered the moving clip art. You were super cool if you manage to include a moving clip art into your presentation, plus sound effects, and rainbow word art of course.
