I don't think anyone actively hates them, well maybe some people, who resent the whole "lining their pockets with our tax money" stuff. It's just that they're figureheads at this point, and don't really have any real purpose. They're essentially just a tourist attraction. So stuff like this, and news reports, the absurd talk of the new baby being fourth in line to the throne and all that malarkey, doesn't really have any bearing.

The only thing I think when I see the Royals is that Prince William looks like Ryan Getzlaf ... with a little more hair.

I'd like it if we didn't pay for their lives but... eh. It's an important part of British and English history. It's what little culture and identity this country has. I don't really hate it, I don't see why anyone else hates it. They contribute in a small sense in terms of tourism.
