Basically, if you see Marilyn Monroe, you need glasses.

Yeah, I can't see Monroe unless I squint. Then she pops out pretty clearly.

But the important question is:

Yeah, that is definitely Einstein. If I squint my eyes I too can see it as Monroe. But it is very very blurred.

I see it going up, but I can very easily switch the perspective on that one. I actually seem to see them both simultaneously if that's possible.

Its going down stairs, there are 2 tell tale characteristics in the photo that give it away. I will give max rep to the first who guesses these 2 details right.

Gonna try my best to explain it. The first clue is that the top of each step looks "right" only if you imagine the cat going down. If you try to imagine where the cat would place its feet if it's going up, you realize the top of each step is wrong. Perhaps this picture clarifies. I think the second clue is that those things on the walls next to the steps would not be placed correctly if the cat is going up. I'm more sure about the first clue though.

I see Einstein but Monroe appears when blinking. The cat is clearly walking downstairs. Look at it's body movement, the way that it has positioned itself to take the impact of a step-down and also the architecture of the stairs give it away.

This is correct, if the cat was going up stairs then the landing on the top of each step would be flat and level. The second would be the architectural accents on the sides of each step. They should run horizontal with the step landing as they do when you think about the cat going down, not vertical with the face of the step as if the cat was going up.
