How long do you think it'll be before weed is legalized in America?

I imagine that it'll sort of take the same process as gay marriage has in the states. We've already seen two states (Washington and Colorado) legalize it. My guess is that as the movement continues to progress, more states will suddenly start legalizing it, and eventually the federal government will make a decision. With gay marriage, it's expected that the Supreme Court is goign to "review its constitutionality" in April, which basically means we're likely to see federal legalization very soon.

Sadly I think it will take about 8 more years. Opinions are changing but it's a big ask for the Feds to legalize any time soon.

There is talk of a lot of states wanting to legalize processed marijuana. Items like edibles, liquids, oils, extracts and pills but not canibis itself. The idea is to make it easy to get it for medical purposes but eliminating the recreational aspect of it by not legalizing it to be smoked. There is also talks of approving only high CBD / low THC strands so the euphoric/hallucinogenic effects are minimized to detour the recreational appeal.

Point being, until a more uniform set of rules and regulations are used/agreed upon by multiple states the federal government is just gonna ignore it.
