What part of summer are you most looking forward to?

For most of us here on the board, summer is just a couple months away. What part(s) of it are you most looking forward to?

For me: cookouts, bonfires, outdoor drinking, yard games, music festivals.

Oh and getting to spend a bunch of days at the ballpark, even if I will be working.

Killing the neighbour kids, who'll no doubt insist on screaming at the top of their lungs as they bounce around on a trampoline at 8 in the morning. I'll savour every second of it too, the little shits.

Putting together the BBQ I got my friend for Christmas and grilling some food.

I guess I don't have much to look forward to.

The birth of my daughter, due mid June

Longer days. It gets dark here at around 4pm in the depths of winter, but it gets dark after 10pm during the summer. Those extra hours of sunshine make the days seem longer and can have a big effect on a persons mood. It's great to get out of work and still have five hours of sunshine left in the day.

I'll just be happy if i get out more to be honest. Hopefully I'll find someone who knows Seattle pretty well and I can start discovering the city. I always hear there's tons of stuff to do there and it's not too far away.

As a Brit, we don't really get a summer. At best, it's a week where we get less rain than usual.

I'm looking forward to pub gardens and lighter evenings.

Did you recently move to the PNW?

No, I was born here. I lived further up North until last year, I just never went to Seattle all that much. I went on a couple of field trips in high school, but outside of that I've gone like 4 times in my whole life. I don't have much of a social life to be honest. I went to hempfest like 5 years ago, and have been to like two concerts, and a Joe Rogan show. I've never actually explored the city in any way. It was just straight to my destination and back.
