I know had we still been at WWE-Club, there'd be someone I could get an answer from regarding this, but since we aren't, I'll still throw it out there.

I have a couple of friends living in American for a year. Later this year me and my family are heading to Florida so me and my friends over there have decided to meet in Vegas. They can only get a few days off so we were going to go for a weekend, which is fine by me. The only thing is, it's my birthday on the Tuesday and my friends don't think they'll be able to stay from Friday until say Tuesday/Wednesday.

I just presumed with it being Vegas, every night is party night, but my friends don't seem to think so. So how different will it be if we were to go Friday-Monday as opposed to Sunday-Wednesday?

Go Sunday-Wednesday, it'll still be just as much fun and a great time and you won't be completely suffocated with strangers. Granted, you'll still be able to do plenty of people watching if that's your thing and there's always a party you can find in some club or bar that's in every casino/hotel in the city. If you are into slot machines those usually pay out a little more on weeknights, because they are trying drum up a little business. It's also easy to get a spot at a reasonably priced table if blackjack or roulette is more your thing on a weeknight.

Have fun man it'll be a blast. Although, I'm slightly confused. You do realize you'll need to fly from Florida to Vegas right? It would be like a two day drive.

One more thing, if you get a chance, spend some time in Old Vegas, versus the "new" strip. It's a lot of fun.

As long as you go to the main areas you should be ok. I hate huge crowds of people so I'd rather be there on a slower night anyway. Either way it's Vegas, but the weekends are bigger.

I hope you buy your ticket from Florida to Vegas ahead of time. If you buy it when you get to the states it might cost a bit more, tickets to Vegas are usually pretty damn cheap.

Yeah I'll be flying, checked it out the other day and they weren't bad so I'm wanting to book them soon, that's why I'm trying to sort things.I've been speaking to my friends some more and I think we will probably go Sun-Weds.

My next problem is that I'm only booked to stay in Florida until the Friday! So I have a couple days in between which I'm not sure what to do with. I don't really want to get to Vegas 2 days before my friends, but regardless of where I am I'll be alone.

I'd tell you to rent a car and drive there to see the American south, but that would be a brutal drive in two days. I'd suggest staying in Florida, Vegas alone sounds bad. Unless you make friends easy, just don't get partied out before your friends get there.

Yeah, I looked into the driving route and it basically said to do it in that time frame you'd see nothing but motorway. Plus, I'm only 22 and I'm not sure what the deal is with car rentals abroad, not sure if you have to be older.

My family will still be in Florida when I need to leave so I should be able to stay on with them and extra night. Only thing is I've completely gate crashed the first week of their holiday so wanted to ditch them as soon as possible.

In the United States you have to be at least 25 to rent a car in most places, at least without rental insurance. I'm not sure if there are any considerations for people from overseas.
