And the person who stole them and then released them in the first place is far from a hero, he's a straight up asshole.

I basically agree with what Steve said here, I think it's a pretty bad invasion of privacy and whoever hacked these people's devices or whatever they did to obtain them is a scumbag. These were pictures taken in private for their own use and for the pleasure of their significant others, and the fact that some of these people will have their reputations soiled for this is kind of disgusting and misogynistic.

I can only feel sympathy for the celebrities if the nude pictures were taken before they were famous and were involved in a relationship that was intimate and connected and obviously not expecting to become the next big thing and for these pictures to be leaked.

However, if they were taken after they became hot (no pun intended) in their professions then I'd ask why they allowed them to be taken. Surely, in the back of your mind as a famous actor/actress, you'd think they might JUST get revealed to the world somehow.

I'm more worried about this revenge porn craze where partners are uploading intimate pictures of their ex-partners onto social media sites just to humiliate their ex. Unfortunately, they can't take action when that happens.

Absolutely. Let's not forget that at the end of the day, they're just people. They should be able to do the same things, such as take pictures of themselves in varying states of undress, without the fear of being harassed and stolen from.

This is a silly way to look at it. People have the right to take nude pictures of themselves if they want to. Celebrities are no different. But they are suppose to be private. It's not like they intended them to seen by the public. Are celebrities just suppose to not do things they want to do on the off chance it gets found out by the public? Fuck that.
