Do you eat things in an order?

When you eat your food, do you eat things in an order, or do you take a it of everything in every bite.

I eat In order, vegetables from worst to best, then chips/carbs then meat or protein.

My wife thinks it odd, she tends to put a bit of everything other fork and go for it.

Tell me I'm not alone here.

I do the same thing. I can't stand people who eat french fries and a burger together, I have to finish my fries first before I even touch my burger.

I always eat all my fries before the burger, for example. Or if I have steak and potatoes and veggies, I'll eat the veggies, then the potatoes, then the steak.

You're not alone. With a roast dinner for example, I can't eat one potato, then a couple of carrots, then back to the potatoes, then a few peas - I have to eat all the potatoes first, then all the carrots, then the peas, etc etc. I also eat the meat last.

It just doesn't feel right otherwise.

I do the same thing. If there are vegtables ill eat that first, then the rest i eat in best/worst order depending on how good they taste. And i dont drink until im done eating.

I always finish fries before eating my burger and i eat chips before my sandwich.

I guess I don't commit enough. There are times where I have to finish every fry before I touch my burger, for example, and then there are times when I want my fries ON my hamburger.

Usually though I tend to go in order, unless there's something particular I like to mix. For example, mashed potatoes and brown gravy are awesome, but when they're mixed with corn off the cob.. OMG.

The thought of mixing foods together and eating them all at once is weird to me, I like to eat my way round the plate section by section.

I mix it up a bit, usually. If it's a plateful of stuff I like at least. If there's something that I like substantially less than everything else on the plate, I'll eat it all first so I can better enjoy the rest of my meal.

I also make sure that I leave some of the best part of the meal to have as my last bite.

When it's a burger, I tend to shove in a few fries but if I'm having crisps, chocolates, then I tend to munch the chocolates first before going in for the crisps.

But yeah, if I'm having a meal say fish/chips with vegetables, cheese roll then I do mix em up rather than having em one by one.

Same here. I always have to eat my side dish before the "big" item. Burger and fries - have to eat every single fry before even touching the burger. Veggies, I get that shit outta the way first. One thing I have to do before eating anything is taking a swig of water.

I never really thought about it, but now I have heard your stories, I can't say I do. If I have a burger and chips, I usually have a couple of chips, then a few bites of the burger, then back to the chips. I get the feeling that if I finish off one before the other, the other one will get cold.

But I don't get eaten everything individually when having something like a roast dinner. I'll always try and have some meat, some potatoes and some vegetables all in one bite.

It depends on the meal. If there's something on my plate that I'm not particularly fond of I'll eat that first to get it out of the way. After that, I'll mix a little of everything together and my only real rule is that whatever my favorite thing is on my plate will be my last couple of bites - since that will stay on my taste buds more.
