Favorite card games

I play a whole lot of cards with my friends. It's a great way to have drinks, conversation and fun all at the same time, and it's cheap. You have a deck of cards, and you have limitless options.

My personal favorites are Sheepshead, cribbage and Euchre. Anyone else a Sheepshead player on here? I know it's a very German/Wisconsin thing, but it's definitely my favorite game.

Nothing beats Texas Hold Em for me. It's great to just play a steady game while having a few drinks with mates. Put a small amount of money in the pot so whoever wins gets a nice bonus, but whoever loses doesn't feel hard done by. Really fun game, and I've had some of my better nights drinking over the few years while playing poker.
