So much for all those people being pissed about a potentially snowy Super Bowl saying it'll limit offenses. The majority of yesterday's games were played in snow and it was a fucking awesome day of football!

We are going to have to agree to disagree about what makes an awesome day of football. Scoring has become too easy in the NFL. You used to be able to appreciate scoring and good offense because it was difficult and a good offense was really accomplishing something. Yesterday and this year just go to prove that football has become more like the Arena league where a score can be expected on every possession almost.

Well, yesterday wasn't awesome because of the scoring, it was awesome because of the comebacks and intensity.

It's also a misconception that teams are scoring significantly more today than they did in previous years. Did you know that teams are averaging just under 2 points more per game than they were 30 years ago? That's really not all that significant of an increase, or at least not as much as most people seem to believe.

I do enjoy defensive games more than shootouts, however, The point was just that people seem to have this conception that super snowy games limit offenses to the point where they become battles of who can fuck up less, and yesterday proved that isn't the case.

I would like to know what the average score was in those games, because I think what's probably going on is game differentials are growing by leaps and bounds, something that happens when you rely on a team having a QB to score points. I've been keeping track all year for a sort of project. Winning teams are currently scoring 29 points per game this year with losing teams only scoring 18 points per game, that's almost a 2 TD difference which lessens the close and unpredictable games. Yesterday the average score was 33-20 that's horrendous.

You ever think there is a reason those teams are losers?

And there have been plenty of close and unpredictable games this season.
