Last time Johnny Manziel started against the Bengals, Cincy won 30-0 and Manziel had a 27.3 passer rating. Add in Bengals motivations to make up for the 24-3 beat down the Browns put on them on Thursday Night Football last season and this game is going to get ugly.

Stop trying to hate on Manziel. :tim

Tonight, @The Legend, Money Manziel is going to give you and Browns fans hope. Anyone remember Manziel's Heisman year in 2012 when he and Texas A&M went into Tuscaloosa, Alabama and took down the #1 ranked Crimson Tide? Well be prepared because Manziel is about to lead Cleveland into a similar battle and pull off a feat very reminiscent of that one.

That's right. Manziel is going to go into Cincinnati and lead the Browns to victory. Manziel will inspire the defense to pick off Dalton 3 times and Manziel is going to throw for 250+ yards, run for 35+ yards, and score 2 TDs.

Manziel didn't look bad, Browns need to commit to him and give him a chance.

Did you watch the second half after Cincy was able to adjust their scheme to keep him in the pocket? Manziel didn't look good.

That being said, I do think they should keep playing him, let him show what he can do. And use it all as a way to commit to Jared Goff with the #1 overall pick.

^Browns are going to have to compete with the 49ers, Lions and Texans for Goff. It'll be a close race.

Houston already has more wins than the Browns will finish with if they play Manziel the rest of the year, they don't scare me. There's only two games left on the schedule that the Browns logically have a prayer of winning, December 13 at home vs the Niners (very well could be the Goff Bowl), and @ KC on December 27. I seriously doubt they win both of those games, so they are looking at 3-13 at best, in definite range of the top pick - and their worst record since 2000. The only fear is they somehow muck it up and win one of these next three divisional games, but right now I seriously doubt it.

I mean, every QB who comes out of college with the potential to be a top pick is these days, pretty much. Bridgewater, Geno, Gabbert, Locker, Bortles, etc

I mean yeah, although Gabbert is the only one from that bunch I would really say was overrated. Anyone who thought he was a first round pick after watching him at Mizzou was kidding themselves. I overrated Locker myself, I whiffed on him bad but most people I knew/saw pointed out his flaws.

But there are some people who really think Goff is near Luck level as a prospect. He's just not all that impressive to me.

Manziel didn't look terrible yesterday and did show some skill, but as @Legend said, once the defense adjusted to keep Manziel in the pocket it was over. Personally, I was never on the Manziel hype train going back to his college days. Mike Evans was the star of that Texas A&M team and bailed out Johnny Football more times than I can count.

As for the #1 pick. That pick is reserved for either the Lions or 49ers. Both those teams may finish the season with 1 win. Lions may stumble into a win against Chicago or Oakland because of the travel, but that is it. In fact Dec 27th (49ers @ Lions) maybe for the #1 pick. Merry Christmas indeed. With that said, i don't love the QBs in this draft, at least not the current first rounders.

Goff: Plays in a QB friendly system that historically doesn't produce NFL QBs. Has flamed out in his biggest games. Has good numbers in the rest of his games and moves well in the pocket. He has the least arm strength of all the potential first round QBs.

Cook: He is a gamer and can make all the throws, but his completion % is lower then you would expect for a first rounder. I compare him to Jake Locker in college. He will make great throws in crunch time, but throws to many 50/50 balls during the course of the game. Will need a tall WR core to catch those 50/50 balls. He is mobile and is the only potential first rounder who plays in a pro style offense.

Paxton Lynch: Interesting prospect that has eye popping numbers and played well in his biggest game (Ole Miss). If Memphis sneaks into the playoff, I could see Lynch becoming a first rounder. He does play in a QB friendly system, but he has a big arm and great size (6-7) for the Pros. If scouts fall in love, he could potentially be a very high pick. Upside would be Big Ben, downside would be Blake Bortles.

Goff to me isn't Andrew Luck or John Elway as a prospect, but he's head and shoulders above everyone else in this class. He's got mobility without being a full on runner, he's accurate from inside and outside the pocket and has the arm to get it done.

Lynch is the most interesting prospect from the standpoint that he's got all the measurables you could want and is playing well this season, but he's come out of nowhere kinda like RGIII and he would terrify me if my team selected him because there's just so much you don't know about him.

Cook is a turnover machine and pretty much has been since HS, you'll just have to take my word for that. I don't trust him as translating at all, his quickness reading a defense hasn't improved hardly at all in six/seven years. I wouldn't trust him with a 10 foot pole, which is about the distance of a pole I'd keep away from either Ohio State quarterback.

If I'm being totally honest, my favorite prospect after Goff is Hackenberg and my case is impossible to prove. I believe his ceiling is higher than any of those prospects (he's got a lower floor than Goff though), if he can go to a team that would protect him. When given the opportunity by his supporting cast Hackenberg can succeed, but Penn State's o-line and supporting cast are so trash that it's impossible to judge him under those circumstances.

Wait, your going to call Cook a turnover machine, but Hackenberg is your 2nd best QB? Hackenberg has absolutely no pocket awareness and his completion % is lower then everyone I mentioned above. He threw 15 picks last year. He only has 2 this year, which is a credit to him, but his awareness and decision making is shit. Also, I don't know where you are getting that Cook is a turnover machine. I won't take your word about Cook because of what he did in HS, its about what he did in college. Look at his stats below:

2013: 22 TDs 6 INTs
2014: 24 TDs 8 INTs
2015: 17 TDs 2 INTs

Cook had his best game in the Rose bowl vs Stanford. A game that was basically a home game for Stanford and against one of the best defenses in the country. I don't think Cook is some can't miss prospect, but he is miles better then Hackenberg and slightly better then Goff. If I had to take one QB now, it would be Cook or Lynch. Hackenberg has Blake Bortles written all over him and Goff scares me as a system QB.

I just had to share this article on why Johnny Manziel is a trainwreck on the field and why the Browns don't need to see any more to know what they have in him...

Lynch is even worse than Goff IMO.

I'd take Cook over both. He's not like some elite prospect or anything, but he has big game potential.

Just a big reason why I don't like Goff:

https://twitter.com/gamscout/status/663595901978435585

Clean pocket that he could have stepped into and instead he got happy feet.
