Vernon Davis traded to the Broncos

Here's the actual deal: SF is trading Vernon Davis and a 2016 7th-round pick to Denver for a 6th in 2016 and a 6th in 2017, per sources.

Even if he isn't the same Davis, man... this has a lot of potential.

Definitely an immediate upgrade at starting TE for the Broncos. Also, where he's at in his career fits the window the Broncos are trying to win in.

It doesn't hurt to kick the tires on him, but his days of being a top 5 TE are long gone. The Broncos didn't really give up that much to get him so it will be interesting to see what they get out of him.

I didn't actually expect them to find someone who'd be willing to trade for him. The Broncos make sense, given Elway's propensity for big moves and the positional need, but I wouldn't expect a big splash out of Davis.
