Is Derek Carr the most underrated QB is the NFL?

Postby DBSoT » Nov 01, '15, 6:11 pm

As of this writing, Carr has a season stat line of 15 TDs, 3 INTs, 1793 yards, and 101 QB rating (this will go up after today's game). He threw 4 TDs today against one of the best secondaries in football (Jets). He also has the Raiders at 4-3 and in the wild card hunt. So is he the most underrated QB in the NFL? He has out played Luck, Wilson, and Tannehill this year. Those are considered the best young arms in the game. I would still put Luck and Wilson ahead of him, but he is tracking in the right direction.

I think he's about rated where he deserves to be -- a young, up-and-coming star that's playing well but still has plenty of flaws in his game. I think he's clearly the best QB of his draft class now, with Bridgewater not having made the same steps forward Carr has, and he's definitely looking like a stud in the making. But I'm also hesitant to say he could become an elite player at his position based on the small sample size.

I'd say people are just hesitant of making any big claims about him considering we're just halfway through this season, the first where he's really played this well. We've seen more out of guys like Luck, Wilson and Tannehill at this point, so I'd be hesitant to take Carr over any of them. But he's playing really, really well and I hope he continues to do so. Oakland deserves a player like him.

You gotta love Oakland. They put their dicks in the dirt and just drug em through the mud to get where they are right now. Carr is well deserving of any praise he gets this year. Carr is gonna be a big name soon, thats my bold statement.
