Packers loss is Browns gain

Postby The Legend » Jan 10, '18, 10:32 am

So with the shake up of the Green Bay Packers this season and the Browns moving forward with John Dorsey as GM, Cleveland is reaping the benefits of getting the chance to hire many of the Packers long time employees. It started with Alonzo Highsmith, who worked nearly two decades for the Packers, and now Cleveland is set to hire Eliot Wolfe, son of Hall of Famer Ron Wolfe, as assistant GM. Gotta say, I'm really excited about where things are going. Of course, anything was going to be better than having a lawyer and Harvard statisticians running your personnel department.

The Browns now have a top 5 front office with a bottom 1 head coach and owner :lol

Hopefully Jimmy Haslam learns to stay out of the way, and they can get Hue Jackson the fuck out of there sooner than later. Then the Browns might actually be set up fo rsome long-term success.

As I heard someone else say, Hue Jackson is out of excuses this season. If he can't produce better results he'll be out and Dorsey will get to pick his next coach. The situation is strange in that Hue wasn't given much of a traditional chance with a Harvard lawyer assembling his team for him, firing a coach right after that might turn other coaching candidates off of the job. That being said, Hue rarely got the most out of his team and his play calling is often atrocious.

That being said with the Browns finally poised to take a QB at the top of the first round (first time since the 1999 draft for that), it doesn't make much sense making him learn one offense his rookie season, and then learn a whole new offense the next year. Similar things have derailed former Browns QB's in the past.

As for Jimmy Haslam, the Browns best chance of getting away from his meddling is a grand jury.
