Peyton Manning may not have actually been benched after all, he was injured yesterday and has a torn plantar fascia. He'll likely be out for a while.

Brock Osweiler is also a free agent in the off season. So if he performs well with Peyton out, then he could be looking at a Matt Flynn situation. @Legend possible cheap young QB for your Browns. He has got to be a better option then the incoming QB draft class.

If he performs well I highly doubt the Broncos let him go. They've invested four years in him, if it looks like he's got what it takes to be a starter they're going to hold on to him as tight as they can.

They may not have a choice. Osweiler will be an unrestricted free agent after this season. If someone were to come up with the cash then he will be gone.

Yeah, Denver's bizarre management of their salary cap may lose them Osweiler because it's not hard to come up with a circumstance where somebody with more cap room than them makes a bigger deal than they can afford. Although if Manning retires I'm not sure how much room that frees up for them.

As for Osweiler himself, I never saw much out of him and don't buy into him much. I like the idea of trading for Stafford that I've heard floated around better, but I'm not sure what that trade would look like.
