0-2 Teams

Postby Everlong » Sep 22, '15, 7:34 am

So after two weeks, the following teams are 0-2:

Indianapolis Colts
Seattle Seahawks
Baltimore Ravens
Houston Texans
New York Giants
Philadelphia Eagles
Detroit Lions
Chicago Bears
New Orleans Saints

Definitely some surprises in there, including a few playoff teams from last year (Colts, Seahawks, Ravens) and a few that were expected to be playoff contenders this year (Eagles, Lions, maybe Saints).

Of these, who do you think has the best chance of turning it around? The stats for 0-2 teams making the playoffs aren't very good, but with 14 weeks left, anything can happen.

I think the Colts are best suited for a turnaorund just because of the division they're in, but the Seahawks are still a better team. Both will probably get to the playoffs, but there have to be a lot of concerns about how they're starting their seasons.

I'd pick either the Colts or the Eagles at this point because both teams are in a division that's a mess and somebody has to make it out of each division. I simply can't see the Titans, Texans or Jaguars in the playoffs. I simply won't allow myself to imagine it. And if Romo is out until around Thanksgiving and who knows how long Dez is out I don't see the Cowboys holding onto their 2-0 start. They are really snake-bitten right now. If I don't see the Cowboys hanging on, I don't see the Skins in and I have serious doubts about the Giants still, so who knows where that will go.

The Seahawks are entering the beginning of the end. When you are a team built on defense your room for error is so small that everything almost has to line up perfect. Add in, that in a salary cap sport all those defensive guys want to get paid and it just isn't a recipe for longevity. I wouldn't be surprised to see them win a wild card spot, but I think they will be an afterthought very soon.

Not to nitpick, but the Lions are in both those categories. I see the Colts and Eagles making it. Arizona is playing to well for me to see them losing the division to Seattle and the Ravens are stuck working behind both Pittsburgh and Cincy. The Lions are likely going to start 0-5 and the Saints looked pitiful against the terrible Bucs.

Ah that's right, for some reason I was thinking it was two years ago the Lions made it. Time flies.
