Browns offer 2 first round picks for #2 overall selection, plan to take Mariota

If successful, this is a huge move. Of all teams to trade up into the 2nd pick, I don't think the Browns would have been one people would have expected to make the move. Obviously if they do so, they're planning to take Marcus MAriota -- there's no other reason to move up to #2 and trade away two top picks other than to grab someone you think is a franchise QB.

We'll see what happens.

Yeah, I have to presume that whoever does wind up trading into the #2 pick (assuming it happens) is gonna give up more than just two first round picks. Either the Browns will have to package other picks/a player, or another team is going to offer a better deal.

If the Titans think Mariota is a potential franchise QB they would just take him and move on. there's nothing that should make a team that needs a QB move away from a chance to take that QB. So if they are even entertaining offers it tells you a lot about what they actually think about Mariota. And if they don't think he's a franchise QB that will lower the cost of the trade.
