Only two playoff wins his entire career? He's never even been to a NFCCG......

That's definitely not on Romo, especially this year. He played an immense game in Green Bay, but his defense just couldn't do enough to give them a chance to win. Not to mention a HUGE DeMarco Murray fumble that really turned the momentum in Green Bay's favor.

Most of Romo's tenure the Cowboys have had zero defense and a poor offensive line.

What about the entire body of work though? I'm talking, historically.

I would say for most of his career he's been a top ten player at his position that has struggled with inconsistency and mistakes in big moments, yes, but has generally gotten a really unfair rap from fans and from media mostly because he plays for the Cowboys.

The kind of criticism he gets is generally reserved for players that are much, much worse than him. I don't think he shoulders a significant deal of responsibility for the Cowboys never getting past the second round.

I do, as the guy and the leader, you gotta shoulder that load and take the fall. Realistically Tim, Aaron Rodgers would take the blame every time or come out and rally the troops. Romo IS outspoken.

Obviously Dallas is a historic, media promoting franchise. Under the bright lights, there's scrutiny of massive proportions. Plus being in today's age, its a given.

Ohno has melted down in numerous big games, throwing them away in Brett Favre fashion. I'm not talking this year, though vs Detroit he was kinda mediocre. Just generally.

Def one of the overrated.

He's still got a chance to get the monkey off his back but the window is closing. The monkey is definitely there though.

Yeah, although I think also realistically, QBs that take the blame like that will often do so even when it's not their fault at all that the team is struggling.

Whether you think Romo is overrated or underrated really depends on where you live and who you ask, I suppose. I can see both sides of the argument, but I think in the national media perspective he's been treated far too harshly over the last 8 years since he began starting for the Cowboys.

Which isn't *fair* and all. Its an entertainment businesses, you kinda know what you're signing up for. Everyone is open to exposure.

You gain love or hate, split wigs. I feel that's more of an outside the chains perspective though. Its not a soft sport..
Personally again, he's been a force, made a presence big enough to lay expectations down on his shoulders.

Promo has been one of the better consistent guys the pass decade, people expect things from him. Don't tell me great players don't rise to the moment and cease the opportunity, he hasn't yet, maybe he never will.

Overall, he's underachieving, especially based off his status in the league.
