Anyone living in the UK knows about this guy and what he has done. I have a few thoughts about the while thing know which I'd like to talk about.

First of all, I wanna say I don't condone any of Adam Jonhson's actions at all. Obviously. What he did was wrong. He is a stupid fucking idiot and broke the law. He deserves to go to jail.

However, I think he is being harshly branded as a pedo. In every paper I read, in every online article I see, they call him a pedo. His isn't a pedo. Not even in the literally sense. A pedophile is someone who is attracted to young children. Typically under the age of 12. The girl he was with at the time was 15. Not saying that's right, just stating the facts. What he has is ephebophilia. Ephebophilia is when someone is attracted to young people, typically between the ages of 15 and 19. Which is what this counts as. And hell, hear in the UK, 15 is only one under the age of consent. So I do think it's fair to brand him as a pedo. And at 15, some girls can already look really mature for the age. I don't think it's too hard to see that there is a huge difference between being attracted to a 9 year old and being attracted to a 15 year old.

Also, reading the facts of this case, it has become quite clear that the girl knew what she was doing and wanted it to happen. I know, as the adult, Johnson should have known better. That goes without saying. But I don't think this girl is as innocent as some people might think. Teens these days have sex all the time and 15 is old enough to know what you do or don't want.

Again, I am in no way defending Johnson. Despite what I have said, he acted like an idiot. At the end of the day, the girl was underage and he should have known better than to do anything with her. These are just a few thoughts I have had on the case.

I get your point but the onus is on the adult, in this case Johnson, to know his boundaries and step away. He knew full well the girl was a fan of his and sought to take advantage of that as things progressed.

Jailed for six years. Probably serve three but considering the traumatisation of his victim, he should serve longer.

All I've seen in the wake of this is people saying things like "the girl knew what she was doing. She's not a victim."

People are ridiculous. Even if she did know what she was doing, and she probably did, Adam Johnson is an adult and it is his responsibility not to break the law and shag children. He took advantage of the situation, and of her, and he should have absolutely received a longer sentence.
