Rumours going round that we've signed Micah Richards. Betting suspended and the Mirror have announced it as official, but the club haven't confirmed it yet.

He'd be a decent signing if he stays fit. I'm hoping he's a replacement for Vlaar, who'll hopefully fuck off.

Seems that Stuart McCall won't be remaining as Rangers boss. Disappointing for him as he inherited a very weak team and couldn't manage to get us promoted. Would have liked to see him get a fair whack at the job with a chance to put a real team together.

Mark Warburton is a lock to take over the job. From what I can tell he's done a great job at Brentford in his time there, I'm sure he'll be able to steady the ship and get us promoted this season. He'll be bringing along Davie Weir as his Assistant Manager, a former Rangers captain and a damn fine defender in his day. That's an area this team desperately needs to improve so Davie will be welcomed back with open arms.

There's been an avalanche of players released from the team, Warburton will have to rebuild us more or less from the ground up.

Fixtures were out today and MUFC's end to the season looks positive but start of season, still unsure how LVG will deliver with new players coming in and learning the philosophy, injuries, so a good league start is not a given.

Also just found out that Norwich's Lewis Grabban is a Muslim judging from his Twitter page and a brief Google search. Intrigued if he fasts and how it affects his pre-season prep.

They'll surely have an easy road to finish 6th.

He is indeed a Muslim. You actually make an interesting point. He must have it sussed by now, but obviously fasting while you're trying to get into tip top physical condition probably isn't ideal. I'd be interested to know how pro-athletes go about observing religious traditions and whatnot within a schedule that's not entirely suited to it.

This player on the Minnesota Vikings, I believe his last name is Abdullah, fasts during training camp. I don't know how he does it without dying, honestly.

I'm arguing with a Portsmouth fan on POF. I mentioned that Fratton Park is basically a shithole and doesn't have a roof on the away end, she said it did and always has done. I went there in 2006 twice and there was no fucking roof, mate. She then brought up that they won the FA Cup in 2007, which is a touchy subject currently.

She's not even that hot, her knees are too pointy.

Some Muslim athletes defer the month of Ramadan from its initial timing to later on in the year, outside of their sporting obligations. They use some religious grounding for doing so but I can't remember, at this moment, what it is but have read something about it.

I imagine if he's fasting, the club and him are working on a schedule but with these pre-season trips in warmer climates, doubt he will be fasting IMO.

Wait, hold up, people reply to you on POF and can carry a conversation with actual words and everything?

What sorcery is this?

I've watched both England U21 games so far this tournament and holy shit were they boring, we were lucky to win today.

Tom Carroll has been terrible in both games and doesn't look like a Championship player let alone Premiership quality, we looked a lot better when he was replaced with Loftus-Cheek. Nathaniel Chalobah is another that was unimpressive. Ings and Kane should be allowed to play together as a 4-4-2, fuck Southgate and his fancy European formations.

Barclay's Premier League Legends is on... featuring Robert Pires.

Premier League legend? Fuck off. He was a good player in a great team, but he's not a Premier League legend.

He warmed the bench an absolute treat. His presence is sorely missed.

Yeah he had that one great season which I think was when he chipped Schmeichel at Villa Park but never thought he was a consistent performer.

Phil Neville set to be appointed as assistant coach to Nuno at Valencia.

Just to add Peter Lim, owner of Valencia, has a 50% stake in Salford City Reds (the Class of 92 club) so that "helps". Would have been better had he got the job on merit but means we'll see less of him on MOTD I guess.

Hope he's nudging Otamendi to Old Trafford though..

Nigel Pearson sacked by Leicester City. Again. And this time he ain't coming back.

I'll miss him. His interviews/press conferences and the odd strangling of a player..!

Wonder whether ANY of it might have to do with his son's departure from the club after racist orgy in Thailand that upset the owners. Possibly, felt that the boys were harshly treated? But imagine it might have been to do with transfers for next season but intrigued by how will get the nod.

John Carver is available.
