About bloody time. Apparently there will be no re-vote about Russia and Qatar though, which is a joke.

You do have to hold out for hope that this will change their practices or fuck them off all together. Can't see it having a lasting effect though.

It'll get swept under the carpet, the World Cups will go on and people will continue to die in Qatar. Unfortunately this is just a flash in the pan.

Figures, the DOJ would care more about FIFA then the countless other issues in the US justice system. If the US never lost the bid for the World Cup I doubt the DOJ even goes after these guys as hard. Good to know these guys may get what they deserve, but this whole thing should have been dealt with by the countries that tend to care about the integrity of the sport.

I really hope people get properly punished for this. People have known FIFA is a corrupt organization for a long time.

Yeah I think the US losing bid may have turned over some information but a FIFA informant Chuck Blazer and FIFA's own investigation by Michael Garcia on the 2018/22 WC's has helped the FBI into the action. They are focusing specifically on kickbacks over a decade whilst the Swiss are investing the 18/22 WCs.

FIFA's response is a joke from the spokesman sighing after every question, to saying it's a good day, FIFA is the victim. Let's hope this is the start of transparency and for heads to roll.
