Real will regret not scoring when they had their period of dominance but Atletico defend fucking well. Latter slightly favourites for second leg now.

Brilliant performance by Arsenal today! Very deserved winners!

But seriously, we were quite poor today. Reading played well and were unfortunate to lose. I feel bad for Federici. He played really well up until that mistake.

I hope we play better in the final. Retaining the FA would be amazing.

Gutted for Federici. Seeing him leave in tears was horrible.

It's good there is a frustrating feeling after this one, can't be allowing ourselves to be too proud of the performance because in the periods when we had control, just failed with that killer ball or attempts. But considering the players missing and without a number nine (Falcao was dreadful, poor for their goal) there are positives to take.

LVG's interview was brilliant - hope he let off that steam to the players to make them realise the importance of grabbing a goal when you're on top in these big games. But tbf, that interviewer is a tad annoying with his fluffy questions.

Really pleased with the performances of Smalling, McNair, Valencia and Shaw. Smalling really is leading from the front in terms of leadership I feel and he's the right candidate to, potentially, partner Hummels in defence next season. McNair, considering it was his first game in ages was excellent and Shaw's confidence will rise as it shows how much Mourinho was worried he brought on Ramires to counter him in the second half.

The subs LVG made were - not for the first time this season - were poor. Januzaj/Di Maria did jack all and the latter always seems to give the ball away. He seems to want to dribble but just has to keep things simple and dribble when there's space to exploit. I'm worried about his future tbh - if a big offer comes in. Januzaj/Blackett needs loans next season.

Falcao - his mind seems gone. He knows he's not going to be there and tbh Wilson, despite his lack of games, would have been better to have played.

Not easy game vs Everton but luckily they aren't playing as well last season and they are facing a different team to last.

Nah, you'll smash us. I'll be getting tickets though, as if the 1% chance that Villa scraped a win came true I'd never forgive myself.

I can't believe Paul Lambert was going to loan out Jack Grealish to Nottingham Forest. He's consistently been the best player on the pitch (aside from Benteke) since Sherwood took charge. He was immense today.

Today is a great day to be a Villa fan.

Thoroughly deserved win, happy for you mate! Delph ran the show and was the clear MOTM for me. Grealish, Benteke also class - happy for tactics Tim as well. Think Rodgers got it all wrong, he's fine when Liverpool are winning but doesn't seem to have an answer when they're up against IT.

Arsenal vs Villa in the final? Battle of the Bradford City whipping boys? ;)

Villa deserved it, credit to Sherwood.

I'd say Arsenal are favourites but with Villa having ended Gerrard's swansong, would be kind sweet if they did over Arsenal.

Bayern on the rampage here. 5-0 up before HT and 6-3 on aggregate. Pep's Bayern job, which was under scrutiny, seems safe again.

Didn't see that coming at all!

Also the respect people have shown Bradford this week what with the fire disaster remembrance has made me proud to be a football fan, lovely tributes.

Everton held a minute's silence for their chairman who passed away, the players got into position, then the announcement of Bradford seemed an after thought but should have done two mins but yeah, good to see it get the attention it rightly deserves.

And United gave Martinez a helping hand in improving their situation..

At least last week in defeat, we could say there were positives to take in pushing the champions elect in terms of control of a game but today, nothing to shout about.

They scored an early break away goal and have no doubt if Fellaini was playing against anyone but Everton, he would score that or at least make the GK work. He didn't have his best game but still would have kept him on a little bit in the second half.

Rooney up front, looks poor in his general play. In the past six weeks, his touch has looked a tad sloppy - maybe tiredness plus being captain etc taking its toll. De Gea's concentration was not there today as shown by his indecisiveness at times and it's worrying, with the Real rumours picking up.

We are going to have games like this and a solution has to be found. Neville mentioned that United were struggling to get in behind them and with this style of play, that's going to be really rare from United now I feel. But defending is easier for teams like Chelsea/Everton showed today. If Di Maria shows the form of last season, he could be that option we need to break teams but he's really low on everything - confidence, control. It looks bleak atm for him.

Just incredibly fortunate that Liverpool didn't win yesterday otherwise it'd be a tad uncomfortable.

I would have rather gone for it all and lost, honestly. There's no way anyone's going to catch Chelsea now. If Arsenal would have gotten the 3 points, then the gap would have been 7, and maybe just maybe Chelsea would slip up and Arsenal could shock them if they won their remaining matches. Now Chelsea just need 2 wins out of 5 to clinch the title. I was upset at the draw, and was pulling hard for Arsenal. But Chelsea just know how to win.
