Amazing how much that moment seems to have affected Gerrard. He's been shit this season and looks like a shadow of his former self. Sure, a good proportion of that will be age catching up with him, but his confidence is shot and it all seems to go back to that moment.

It's quite sad to see his Liverpool career end in heartbreak. Liverpool threw the title away last year (even before Gerrard's slip, they blew a 3-0 lead against Palace with only a handful of games remaining) and this year the script was written for Gerrard to win the FA Cup on his birthday, but they lost the semi final in a big upset. There was a scene of Gerrard crouching down in the centre circle, head in his hands, after the ref had called time. Even as a Villa fan, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

Same. He's been fairly lucky to stick around as long as he has this season, I can think of a few chairmen who would have sacked him.

I like him but he's recruited horribly. The amount of money he's spent on bad and average players is absolutely crazy. You can't afford to do that at Liverpool, especially with money received from the sale of their best player.
