Replays in cup competitions do bother me, yeah. Both from a fan's perspective and a scheduling perspective. If the tie was resolved via ET and pens on the day then that's one less game for each team to play and they can move on, similarly it means the people in attendance get to see a true winner rather than having to wait for a replay and buy another ticket.

December 13 2014:
Ronaldo 25 goals
Messi 13 goals

March 8 2015:
Ronaldo 30 goals
Messi 30 goals

Safe to say Messi has killed it in 3015. Barca back on top of La Liga while Real are struggling big time.

Shit that's a long career he's got there.

I'm still embarrassed about the early pitch invasion the other night, though compared to the Albion fans who ripped out seats and threw them into the Villa family seating area below it's not a big deal at all.

Real Madrid 5-4 over Schalke on aggregate. Crazy game, but they were very lucky to get out alive.

I was praying for one more goal from Schalke. Great game though.

If Schalke did score and knocked RM out who knows what would have happened in that stadium.

Falcao played 72 minutes in a Man U U-21 game vs Tottenham and didn't score. They certainly won't be bringing him back permanently.

Falcao is shit. He seems to have lost all desire to actually compete anymore.

I can understand getting lazy if you're earning like 300k per week though. It's not like he's a young and hungry player with a point to prove, he's a big name earning bucketloads of money and he knows it. When you earn that much, chances are you start thinking "alright, I'm set for life now no matter what" and the fire inside you probably does die down a bit. You have nothing to strive for anymore, as on a personal level, it doesn't really get much better than this.

I have no doubt that if Falcao came to the Premier League when he was younger and actually wanted to prove himself and succeed, he would've done. He has the talent, he just doesn't have the desire.

When cup games and the like are played over two legs, the scores from both games come into account to decide who qualifies.

So if Team A wins 2-1 in the first game and Team B win 0-3 in the second game, the aggregate score would be 2-4 and Team B would go through to the next round. Some times, if the scores are tied after the two legs, the team who scored the most away goals qualify. It depends on the competition. It's one of the dumbest football rules in my opinion.

Some Champions League games, as well as several other cup games, are played twice - once at home, and once away.

If Aston Villa beat Real Madrid 4-0 at home, but lose the away game 3-0, Villa would still advance as they won 4-3 on aggregate. It gets complicated though, due to an away goals rule. If Villa lose the first game 0-1 at home but win the second game 2-1, Villa would advance as they had scored twice in the away game, whereas Real Madrid has only scored once in their away game. So, despite the aggregate being 2-2, Villa have more away goals, so would progress in the competition.

Falcao, sadly, was fucked after that ACL and rushing to get back for the WC.

He's tried but nothing goes for him when he plays.

Chelsea here for the taking. Cavani missed a sitter of a chance.

Yeah, quite a lot of people don't like the rule.

Extra time in the Chelsea vs PSG game. Hopefully it goes to penalties and Terry spoons one over the bar and cries.
