The Football League Thread

Postby prophet » Feb 14, '15, 6:01 pm

Figured we could do with a thread where those of us who support football league sides can come and vent without our discussion getting lost in the Premier League pack.

Prophet - Bradford City
Romo - Bolton Wanderers
Daz - Norwich City

Anyone I've missed? How great would it be if Villa got relegated and Bradford got promoted? The Championship would be the best league going. Big FA Cup game for us tomorrow, praying we give the Mackems a spanking!

may as well repost my bolton rant

Gutted isnt the word, said at the time if at 2-1 we took the several chances we had we'd have gone on to win 4/5-1 but we didnt Watford rallied and we gave their players to much time around on 18

City have conceded in the 90th minute five times this season, FIVE times...so I feel your pain, it's gutting. It's all about the FA Cup today though, pray for me guys.

It really pisses me off that Sky has such a stranglehold over the broadcast rights in the UK. The fact I have to listen to games on the radio in 2015 like a bloody savage is ridiculous. Almost every other major league across the world has a platform that allows people to subscribe and watch games at their leisure. All the games are streamed to other countries, through betting sites and the like, and it's bloody ridiculous. It I was in Thailand, I could watch every game that place on a Saturday afternoon, in the top two tiers of English football at the very least, but in the country the games are being played, I have to listen to some wanker and ex player who hasn't been heard of in at least a decade (looking at you Adrian Forbes) blabber on through outdated technology. Curse you Sky!

When Norwich get promoted and Villa stay up, we'll laugh at these fools.

... I'm gonna regret this post, I know it.

Beat (then) top of the league MK Dons last Monday, followed that up with a win over Sunderland on Sunday and tonight we beat Leyton Orient 2-0 away (our 7th away win of the season). If our home form was half as good as our away we'd be top of the league most probably. Oh and we're one win away from Wembley.

I'm loving this season so much.

I'm Birmingham CIty.. but I've been feeling a bit disillusioned with the game for a while now. Especially with everything that's been going on at Blues over the past few years. But yeah I'll try and post every now and then.

Villa have gone through almost as many staff members as Norwich this season.

Terrible start for Middlesbrough. They're completely to blame for falling behind after 2 minutes, some shocking play led to a Leeds goal. The finish had an element of luck about it as it picked up a slight deflection, but their goalkeeper was completely to blame. They also wasted a great crossing opportunity seconds beforehand.

Aitor Karanka looks a good manager though. I remember when he was a player - I used to manage him on FM. Makes me feel old as fuck.

Hopefully Middlesbrough don't turn things around. If Norwich can pull out a win against Watford today, we'll have closed the gap considerably at the top, which I didn't think he had a hope in hell of doing under Adams. I'm still hoping we can push for automatic, as I don't trust us to see the playoffs through with our lack of consistency all season.

All that being said, we play Watford today, Blackburn in the week, Ipswich this time next week, and have Derby after that. This run could really make or break our season.

I know that now I've inevitably cursed it, but I think Leeds might see this out.

Props to Leeds for defending a 1-0 lead against the league leaders for close to 100 minutes. Huge win.

Definitely added a little something extra to all the games featuring the top six today.
