Do you see Leo Messi moving to the Premier League?

Postby PorkChop » Jan 06, '15, 7:09 pm

Messi is *reportedly* considering his future at Barcelona, and Man City and Chelsea are his most likely destinations should he leave. He's already begun following Chelsea on social media and sources close to him say he's considering his options.

Can you see anything materialising? How do you think he'd do in the Premier League?

He should come to Liverpool. We'll even give Barcelona Balotelli for free just to sweeten the deal. They can have him stand in a wall during training or something.

I'd like to see it. I think he would do quite well.

No, I don't think he'll ever leave Barcelona. He's not having his arse kissed by Enrique and he isn't used to not having special treatment. It's most likely he's trying to make the brass in Catalonia shit themselves by teasing he'll leave so they'll either pay him more money or get rid of Enrique, in the end it'll likely be both...tax free.

Imagine him at Chelsea though? He'd tear shit up. It'd probably take him a few months to get up to speed with the pace and physicality of our game but with the likes of Hazard setting him up he'd have no problem settling in, he's far too phenomenal of a player to not adjust. In an ideal world he'd be better fit, football-wise, at Arsenal or Liverpool - teams that try to play possesion-based attacking football with more creative players than goalscorers. I'd love to see him play in England, doubt it'll ever happen though.

Nope.

His buyout clause is £200m plus wages so not going to happen before 2016 as Barca will be under a transfer ban this year. Messi is God there, no-one wins vs Messi. Pep pissed him off in 2011 by not playing him in a game and he missed training. Same thing happens with Enrique - latter will be gone end of season.

On a side note to the latest tension, another note of Messi missing training was that it was an open session that kids from a school had paid money to come and watch and also a hospital visit was in the works for that day. Probably lousy timing to skip training but just imagine if that was Ronaldo, he'd get endless criticism.
