- Norwich win 6-1
- Emile Heskey inspires Bolton to a 2-1 win after coming on for his debut with the team 1-0 down
- Bradford win 2-0 away from home, extended their unbeaten run to EIGHT games.

-Boxing Day is Rooney Day as he bags two v Newcastle. Falcao looking sharper - 3 assists compared to IIRC, 0 assists in four years. I thought Falcao would get a full game today but probably means he'll start v Spurs - quieter second half but there were a few chances he could have shot but was unselfish just needs to score, I feel, a cracker of a goal to get him going rather than what pundits normally say, a tap in.

-Mignolet's "indefinite" spell out of the team ended today due to injury to Jones but heard his kicking is still woeful and he let the ball roll out for a corner. Nice.

Look away now Porky...

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert:
"We're very pleased with how we played. I thought we were fantastic throughout the game. I thought we passed the ball excellently and the goalkeeper kept them in the game. If you ask the lads in the dressing room, they want the games to come quickly because they're playing well.

"Christian Benteke had done everything, put the header across goal, but Lukasz Fabianski came up with a great save. The way we're playing is really pleasing. We've changed the way we've played over the last three to four weeks and the lads have been brilliant with it."

How can Lambert say that?

It was the worst Villa performance I've seen in some time. Everyone was abysmal, aside from Benteke who was still quite bad. The passing was terrible, crossing was terrible, Cleverley once again did absolutely nothing, Okore looked horrible in possession, Guzan should have done better with Sigurdsson's free kick and Agbonlahor was Agbonlahor. It was an awful, awful game and performance.

Really delighted to hear Lambert wants to take him permanently for £7m. But think Martinez might to try to take him aswell but if it's for £7m - happy days, indeed.

I heard it's only about 3.5 - 4 million, not the 7 million that's being thrown around. I wouldn't even pay that for him though.

Cleverley is a competent player, but he doesn't do anything - he just exists. He never provides the crucial pass in the final third, never makes a crucial tackle, never scores, never assists, never even shoots at goal... he just doesn't seem to do anything at all. It's honestly like he hasn't played at all, as he's done nothing of note for half a season. I can't recall a game this season where I thought he'd made any sort of impact at all.

Blackburn battered us and then Heskey came on at HT and completely changed the game! What a game! 14th in the league now 2 points off 8th and 9 off the playoffs with half a season left to go, sign a striker in the window and maybe another midfielder and we'll be flying Neil Lennon has proven already that Celtic was no fluke despite being in a joke league the guy has completely changed the club around!

Who do you think Lennon will sign next? Teddy Sheringham? Carl Cort? Paul Merson?
