FIFA investigation clears FIFA of corruption charges

Postby PorkChop » Nov 13, '14, 6:21 am

Live reaction: http://www.theguardian.com/football/liv ... e-reaction

FIFA vice-president: "I feel it is now very important that people should concentrate solely on the wonderful occasion that the World Cup provides to the many millions of people who enjoy our game."

Oh, fuck off :jerk

The report should have been undertaken by an independent body - having FIFA investigate themselves is just laughable. It just acts as yet more proof that they're the most corrupt governing body in all of sport.

I don't know, before calling FIFA the most corrupt body in sports, you should check into the NCAA. Both are incredibly laughable.

So, the investigator hired to conduct an internal investigation is going to appeal the summary of his own internal investigation?

Garcia has utterly embarrased and confirmed to the world that the report was a whitewash. Yet they find a scapegoat (England) and brush off any sign of investigative dealings on the subject.

Although tbf, the whole England bid with Cameron, Beckham, William all looked abit cringe-worthy. Kinda glad they, especially Cameron and William, had eggs on their faces.

FIFA awarded the World Cup that should have gone to Australia or USA. Instead they gave it to Qatar. A scorching hot country where alcohol(tourists have leeway) isn't allowed, women have few rights and homosexuality is outlawed. A country that also imports workers, steals their passports, withholds pay and uses forced slavery to build their cities and stadiums. Oh yah and higher ups in Qatar also apparently support ISIS. And FIFA continues to defend their fucking idiotic choice. FIFA has also forced Brazil to change in-stadium liquor laws and granted the 2018 WC to Russia over England and we all know what crap goes on there. The worst part is FIFA is blatantly corrupt and there's nothing anyone can really do about it. The NCAA has their problems but I'd rather deal with them than FIFA.

The sporting world would be a better place if FIFA HQ imploded during an executive meeting.

Let's not hide away that England fucked up by chasing - or more bluntly, trying to bribe - Jack Warner by helping a family friend get a job, play a friendly with Trinidad and Tobago amongst other stuff but guess you could say that's "playing the game".

Portugal/Spain refused to provide evidence for which they should face punishment and Australia were given some criticism aswell.

USA doesn't deserve to hold another World Cup after Diana Ross spooned that penalty wide in the '94 opening ceremony, imo.
