- Fair point, I disagree on the point you make that "Messi would disappoint in the Premier League, because of his small stature and lack of strength." smaller players have had fantastic careers in the PL and Messi isn't as weak you'd think
- Ronaldo is better at set-pieces, as proven in both the Premier League and La Liga.
- it's a pretty lame reason to claim someone is better than someone and actually if you look into this more you'd actually find that Messi is the better free kick taker as he hits the target on more occasions than Ronaldo
- Ronaldo has a better Champions League resume. In fewer CL games than Messi, he's scored more goals, and has an equal number of assists. He holds the record for the most Champions League goals scored in a calendar year (15 in 2013) as well as the most goals scored in the Champions League group stage (9 in 2013).
- Ronaldo has 2 more goals than Messi is champions league football so again its not a clear cut fact to say he is better than Messi.... Messi has also been the champions league top goalscorer 4 years in a row prior to Ronaldo's getting it last season... Messi is also 4 goals from being the all time champions league top goalscorer they both have won it the same amount of times so again its neck and neck on this one again...
- Ronaldo is bigger, stronger, and still as fast as Leo Messi.
- being bigger, stronger and just as fast as Messi doesn't make you a better player, it's just makes you bigger, stronger and just as fast as Messi... Messi isn't even that fast, he has great acceleration and uses his technical ability to beat players and uses his acceleration to get ahead of them.
- He is only six goals behind Leo Messi's La Liga tally, and this is without playing his whole career in Spain and having his team built around him, which are two benefits that Messi has. Despite this, Ronaldo was the fastest player in La Liga history to reach 150 goals.
- Ronaldo joined La Liga(when he was 23/24) during the period where he was playing incredible, he had already found goalscoring highs and was already considered one of the worlds best where Messi who began playing in La Liga(when he was 17) and didn't find similar goal scoring form to Ronaldo until 3/4 years later so Ronaldo scoring nearly as many goals as Messi isn't a shock considering their ages when they began playing in La Liga... Messi also has nearly 20 more assists than Ronaldo since 09 when Ronaldo joined La Liga
- He is a better header of the ball and presents more of an aerial threat. He's also scored more headed goals than Messi.
- Messi has better technical ability than Ronaldo and when surrounded by players Messi has proven time and time again he has better better with the ball at his feet
- He's far better at penalties than Messi. Ronaldo has scored 23 of his 24 penalties for Madrid. Messi has scored 20 of 27, making him a somewhat above average penalty taker - hardly a great record.
- again it doesn't make you a better player because you can score penalties...
- Ronaldo is better at international level. Messi has consistently disappointed for Argentina, whilst Ronaldo is Portugal's all-time top scorer.
- Ronaldo has been capped 11 more times than Messi and has only scored 8 more goals, Ronaldo also started his international career 2 years before Messi.... also Ronaldo has hardly being a superstar for Portugal either the only memorable I can remember him doing in a major tournament was that wink when Rooney was sent off
- Ronaldo pays his taxes

You know, I don't know why I have this irrational hate for him. It probably comes from deep seated jealousy and resentment. He's beautiful and fit and successful and i'm sat here drinking Irn Bru out the bottle and patching World of Warcraft.
But the reality is... he's shit, that's why I hate him.
Fucking Ronaldo.

I mean Messi pretty much led his team to the World Cup by himself. Argentina was a trash squad and had no business to be even close to the finals. I'm pretty sure Messi was injured during that run too. Meanwhile Ronaldo choked and disappeared with Portugal.
Ronaldo has always benefited from star players on his squad which is why he gets exposed when things have to fully fall under his shoulders. I know Messi's had some help in Barca but Ronaldo has gotten pampered with some of the greatest players to aid him.
