I don't like to speak about it publicly but I'm not a fan of poppies.

Yes, they people who died in WW1 & 2 should rightfully be remembered. But I'm not going to donate money to our present-day army to go and fight illegal wars. A bit like America, we've developed quite a worrying obsession with our military, which only seems to get stronger as time goes on. I hate the glorification of war and soliders we see in the media every day, and the whole "support our troops" nonsense.

Surely the FA could replace the poppy with a black armband?

You would think that with all the publicity this issue has generated, that you would see everyone wearing a poppy yet I'm struck by when on my travels to work that not many people wear one. Or if they do its near Remembrance Sunday but all the endless conforming on TV is slightly sickening. God forbid no-one wears one then they get hammered (namely Jon Snow and James McClean)

Steve Bruce seems to have sorted Villa out a bit. It's still early days, but under Bruce we've got 11 points from 5 games, under Di Matteo it was 10 points from 11 games. Kodjia has scored in every game under Bruce, and the team are playing much better football too. I don't think we'll get promoted, but I certainly think we could make the play-offs with a bit of investment in January and a bit if luck, too.

@Daz What's going on at Norwich? It's been a rough week for you lot.

Russell Martin is an awful defender and drags everyone around him down. McGovern needs to be dropped. He was at fault for 3 goals against Brighton, and all three goals against Leeds today could have been saved.

There's no fucking bottle in any of our players. Not a shred of fight. As soon as Leeds equalized, everyone in the ground knew what was coming. Then somehow we manage to draw level in the last minute ... and when you're relying om Kyle fucking Lafferty to do that, you know you're in trouble ... and still somehow manage to throw it away.

Not one player seems to give a shit. We lose every second ball, there's no commitment to win any 50/50 challenges. Players haven't been performing all season. Robbie Brady hasn't played well since January and somehow seems to be the first name on the team sheet every week.

Jerome is horrendous. He doesn't work. He has zero ability to hold up the ball, no link up play, and couldn't hit the side of a barn door. We have no other options cause Delia and the board don't want to spend the money. We should have sold Brady and taken a gamble on Assombalonga. It's not as if we play with any width to require wide players anyway. And for a supposed free kick specialist, I've never seen Brady take a good one in a Norwich shirt.

Liverpool have become serious contenders under Klopp. Incredible performance, shame they couldn't keep a clean sheet though.

Chelsea mightily impressive yesterday - one of the best performances delivered under Abramovich's reign at the club. Conte's found the formation and the personnel within that, who are all thriving.

Scotland out perfoming England in every area of the pitch and somehow losing 2-0. Must be the pink shirts.

If you had told me the result before kick-off I wouldn't have been surprised at all. Having seen how the teams played, however, I don't understand how Scotland managed to lose this game. They dominated the play for the vast majority of the match, kept England on the back foot... and they did nothing with their opportunities.

I get this enough from Rangers god dammit, I don't need it internationally as well.

The only thing worse than this Peterborough vs Bolton game is Sammy Ameobi's emo fringe.

This has been one of the worst games I've ever seen.

City-Chelsea game was a brilliant watch. City were profligate in front of goal at the start of the second but Chelsea dug in when they were under the cosh. Guardiola's sarcastic cheering of the referee was a sight to see, referee bottled doing anything unlike if it was Mourinho he'd been sent to the stands I'd guess. Chelsea have a run of fixtures they should win, looking very good atm. Aguero's a dirty shit, twice he's levelled Luiz (today and in 2013) but he got his just rewards today and Luiz's post-match interview was classy IMO. Could have nailed Aguero but in light of this week' events, he was composed.

Norwich win 5-0 at home and keep a clean sheet for the first time in I don't know how long. No surprise it coincides with the return of Howson and Russell Martin not in the starting eleven. Also Cameron Jerome not playing meant we put the ball in the net once or twice. One of the best performances of the season.

Cameron Jerome is basically the Norwich equivalent of Agbonlahor. He's absolute shite yet for some reason a lot of people talk about him like he's a threat and he'll suddenly become good one day. Glad to see you lot win so convincingly actually, hopefully the team can turn a corner now and put the slump to an end.

On a side note, fuck Leeds.

Steve Bruce has said he's verbally agreed a January signing already. A bunch of Villa fans on the forums are trying to guess who it is, throwing out some crazy names.

It's Alex Bruce. Bet you any money.
