^Enjoy it boys - not enjoyable for me but can't take away your joy.

We played well up until Eto'o first goal which got a deflection but our first half wasn't bad - pacy start but poor defending for the two goals after that and when it went to 3-0 it was game over.

Januzaj, sadly, was our best player today. Some of the stuff he does takes ya breath and you forget he's only 18. Vidic's tackle was only a yellow and Rafael deserved a red for what was a down-right reckless challenge, don't know where that guy's brain is sometimes.

TBH, I'd have expected Torres to score the 2nd and third goals, even Demba Ba could have scored them so the hat-trick was a hat-trick any striker could have bagged but helped by our poor defending.

We need to get Rooney/RVP fit as possible asap and hope we can at least win games albeit not convincingly and with fluency. We can forget our ambitious transfer signings in the summer if we don't get fourth.

I'm surprised Chelsea didn't win by more, honestly. Don't think anyone expected United to win.

The fuck? It was basically a given that they were going to lose, I don't think anyone expected an Eto'o hat trick though.

And Aky - it was me on the PTF Twitter the other night :lol it is true though, David O'Leary was the first to discover Vidic! http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11677/2354134/

Also: Aston Villa manager David O'Leary has been running the rule over potential targets in the Russian primera Liga. O'Leary attended the game between Shinnik Yaroslavl and Spartak Moscow on Saturday and following the game admitted he was very interested in signing one of the Spartak players. Although he failed to identify the player, O'Leary is reportedly interested in Serbia & Montenegro international defender Nemanja Vidic. He said: 'I've visited Yaroslavl to watch some Spartak players we're interested in. There is one player in Spartak I'd sign now but the final decision, as you understand, will be made by our board not me,'' O'Leary told Sport-Express.

All the way back in 2005 that was! Before Sir Alex and his big purple nose barged in and hijacked any potential deal... *angrily shakes fist*

Oh, what a shame. I would say you can have him now but I love Vidic still to let him go so easily.

Shame stingy Doug couldn't fork out the cash to get him (£7m)!

I had a feeling you were behind the PTF account as soon as I saw that McLeish tweet. I'm glad you had a good time.

United are reportedly preparing a huge big for Juan Mata. Exactly what they need tbh.

I know he's not a player that we require but a successful move which I'd say very loosely, would lift the whole club, fans, squad and would help us massively for fourth but not getting hopes up. Jose was pitying us with sympathy yesterday so let's hope he moves forward with more generosity!

Do we need Mata? No.
Do we need a high-quality, reputable name to come in and lift squad? Yes.
Does Mata fit the above question? Yes.
We sign him if we can.

TBH, if Mata joins and we make top four then I'm happy. Also Rooney's contract situation is up in the air and tbh, Mata is more than a perfect replacement if he leaves in the summer or run his contract down next year.

Januzaj, Mata, Rooney
RVP

Would not be a bad top four but whether Moyes is willing to upset Rooney, who he has gone on a public love-in to make him stay, not so sure but think Rooney would be OK.

If Mata goes to Chelsea then Rooney would be involved in the move, Jose is goating you out and is like here want Mata.... give us Rooney and hes yours... he's making Moyes look like a bitch I wouldn't be suprised if in a few days he goes back on his word and says Mata is staying or sells Mata to someone else

Why would Mata want to join that team of bottle-jobs?

Awful penalty shoot-out too, shite from all of them.

I'm so jealous of the Sunderland fans. I can't quite think of any better feeling than getting through that second-leg away from home, knowing you're all going to Wembley. Crazy to think this time last year I was inside Villa Park with absolutely no voice left. How time flies...

In hindsight, if Villa had won that and gotten through, there's a good chance we would have been relegated. I was fairly pleased we wouldn't face more fixtures as we barely had any fit players as it was :lol
