I was going to start a thread about this later. I've read a lot of contrasting opinions about it.
I think a major part of the deal is that it's not any ordinary job - it's football. If Evans was a bricklayer and went back to work, no one would care. It's the fact he'll reportedly be receiving around 20,000 per week if he's re-signed. Nobody wants to see a convicted rapist earn in a week what many people do in a year.
