With Delph/Vlaar, due to their recent prominence, it might be them just assessing their options rather than the club being inactive in getting the deals done. You can't blame them for seeing what's out there and if Delph continues to perform, he could be off. If I was Villa, get them signed, and if they continue to prosper, sell them next summer. English players always get sold for top dollars.

Typical. He looked good tbf - our best centre back. Luckily, Rojo's clearance has come and Evans needs to get his arse in gear. Still vulnerable but fuck, if we can score more than the opposition - job done!

Intrigued to see how Cleverley does at Villa, says he wants to play more advanced which tbf, when he did at Watford and Wigan, he did well. He struggled playing deep and in a two man midfield but think he'll thrive at Villa before joining Roberto at Everton next summer.

Just ordered this book 'Turning My Back on the Premier League'. Written by a life-long Man United fan who grew disillusioned with the top-flight due to all the money and promotion that have corrupted the game and turned it from a working-class sport into a finance-monster. Instead he opts to support League 2 Dagenham and Redbridge and the book follows his first year supporting a 'proper' football club.

Welbeck started off well, he tried to do what he did vs. Swansea away last season, came close but like the Bayern game at OT, should have drilled it hard and low.

Danny Welbeck looked decent in his debut. Also got on the score sheet as well. Arsenal actually played better than I expected them to and I will take the point. Wilshere had a great game as well.

This actually sounds pretty interesting. I've seen a lot of the 'Against Modern Football' movement and if this book is any good, let me know. I'd be interested in giving it a read.
