Create your perfect 5-aside team

Create your perfect 5-aside team. Use players past or present!

Team 1:

Buffon
Stam
Scholes
Zidane
Messi

I'll explain this one. Buffon was the natural choice for me as he's firstly a giant dude and one of the best goalkeepers in history plus he's still shredding it for Juve today so he's the type of experience head you need in net to reassure the outfield lads.

In defence my first instinct was to go for Paolo Maldini due to how legendary he is and how highly I used to rate him when he played but then I thought more realistically and decided that when I'm playing 5-aside and the other team has a fuck off scary fucking fuck playing centre-back you're already losing the mental battle - from here I thought of who the most fuck off scary fucking fuck looking defender I could and Jaap Stam was the natural selection.

My midfield was a tougher selection due in part to the massive pool of talent I had to choose from. I decided against including anyone before my time because I can't stand it when people go on about old legends of the game when they weren't around to watch them play (I know the likes of Zico, Pele, Best and Maradona were amazing, but as they were all years before my time I'm not going to rave over them like I'm the authority). Tht said I wanted a tough tackler and someone who embodies what I consider to be the complete package. Paul Scholes was one of the toughest tacklers the game has seen but what made me lean towards him rather than a Keane or Viera was that he was a far superior passer than those two - I opted to him over Gerrard due to his lower centre of gravity. Zidane picks himself, he's the complete package.

Messi up top was a no-brainer. He has the best footwork of anyone to play the game, always stays on his feet, has a low centre of gravity and has the skill to destroy anyone. Most Barca players do thought to be honest as they're taught futsal from an early age.

Neuer
Pique
Iniesta
Zidane
Messi

I considered Buffon aswell but Neuer could be the best goalkeeper i've ever seen and my team plays futsal rules where the goalkeeper plays sweeper and I don't think there is a goalkeeper with the outfield skills he has so he took that win and the fact his reflexes are insane.

Pique because he is a quality defender and in 5 a side all outfielders need some sort of attacking ability and if you disagree you need to watch this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGylvpQ23tU

Iniesta because his close control is only beaten by one man and he is also in my team, he's also got great passing ability which helps and is complete incompetent in defence

Zidane & Messi for the same reasons you picked them

Oliver Kahn
Nemanja Vidic
Leo Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo
Thierry Henry

Picked Oliver Kahn because he's hard as fuck, and if I was one-on-one with him I'd shit myself and fluff the shot.

Vidic at centre back for similar reasons.

Messi and Ronaldo on the wings because pace, agility and close control are the most important elements of five-a-side football.

Henry for similar reasons as Messi and Ronaldo.

Great idea for a thread.

Neuer
Pique (2009)
Makelele
Messi
C. Ronaldo

That was actually tough.

I thought of Schmeichel but Neuer is the same as him but slightly better now with the different bows to his arrows he has and the way he's redefined goalkeeping as of late.

Pique 2009 was the key to their treble winning season, not really re-captured that form and plus, good on the ball and got pace.

I really wanted to include Scholes but Makelele as a DM is the guy who'll happily let the ones in front and also he can drop back into defence with Pique if need be.

Front two self-explanatory.
