I feel so bad for the USA. They played relatively well but made some horrible, horrible mistakes giving the ball away constantly.

@Everlong

It's going to come down to the last matches of the group stage.

If the USA lose, and not too badly (this is key - if they get beaten 3, 4 - 0 they're probably out), it'll be down to whoever wins out of Ghana vs. Portugal and how. It'll come down to goal difference, the amount of goals scored minus the amount of goals conceded. That's if there is a winner, a draw between the two would put USA through regardless.

If the USA draw - claiming 1 point (for a total of 5) that'd put them safely through the next round because no matter who wins out of Ghana and Portugal a win for them would only net them 3 points putting them on a total of 4.

If the USA win - then holy shit. Murica fuck yeeeah.

UGH I CAN'T BELIEVE IT ENDED IN A TIE.

I was at Milwaukee's biggest soccer bar for the game though and the atmosphere was incredible the entire time. I was iffy about going because I hate crowds, but it wound up being an awesome experience. Lots of chants, singing, beer being thrown at scores... haha. I couldn't do that for every game, but that was really cool. I'll try to post vids later once I get em off my phone... uploaded one to Facebook already.

Quality to hear. Nothing better than getting blathered in a pub watching International football, particularly when your team is doing so well - glad you enjoyed yourself!

Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari have been sent home from the World Cup by Ghana after Boateng told off the coach and Muntari apparently assaulted a committee member. Bodes well for the USA I'd say, Ghana winning is the biggest threat to their qualifying and that's a lot less likely now.

Ghana have imploded ala France 2010.

Also I'm pretty sure Loew and the Germans wouldn't mind helping Klinssman go through.

Someone posted this on Reddit 6 months ago in regards to US fans saying Group G was the Group of Death:

It would be lovely to to see you move through, but just stop being delusional. Ghana and the US are way too inferior against Portugal and Germany. A group of death has at least 1 contender that will not make it. Not the case with group G.

Algeria 1-1 Russia

Former, if score stays the same, will qualify for the knock out phases for the first time.

If there is one manager who knows how to draw with Algeria in a world cup match it is Fabio Capello. Fair play to the Algerians, good luck to them against Germany :lol

Well done Algeria! First time they reach the knockout phases. Well deserved for their small group of fans who've gone to Brazil to cheer them on. A shame they didn't meet France in the next round, would have been an amazing atmosphere.

Lee Dixon's not bad either. O'Neill has been the saving grace besides Dixon of what is a woeful ITV line-up although the Beeb's ain't that much better.

James Rodriguez...Woah!, I didn't think he could top his sensational performance against Japan but today, and in particular that goal was sensational :clap

I expect him to end up at Madrid or Barca in the near future...

I seriously think Colombia can take Brazil out.

The concept of penalty kicks to decide games is so "bleh" to me.

Up until 88th minute, LVG was getting ready for a holiday before taking the United job on.

Was cheering them on tbh and Robben's penalty was fortuitous (as usual made the most of it) but to suggest LVG is drumming the cheating, conning the refs into his players is slightly bitter.

Depay/Robben were key in the second half. LVG taking off RVP was a surprise but good signs for when he takes over and it paid off.

And Rodriguez and Sanchez from Chile are going to be transfer targets for alot of clubs. Barca would be mad to let the latter go. Sure Rodriguez will push for a move from Monaco where he's playing in front of a dire crowd.
